Alberto Vázquez (A Coruña, 1980) Some of his many distinctions include candidatures at Barcelona’s Saló del Cómic, three of which in 2008; a nomination to the White Ravens International awards; and the awards from institutions such as INJUVE, Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias or Diario de Avisos. As a comic artist and writer, he has published the following titles: MMMH (Pub. Polaqia, 2001); ALTER EGO (Pub. Polaqia, 2002); FREDA (Pub. Ponent, 2002); PSICONAUTAS (Pub. Astiberri, 2006) ESQUIZOIDE (Pub. Nuevo Orden, 2006); EL EVANGELIO DE JUDAS (Pub. Astiberri 2007) while creating illustrations for HOP FROG by Edgar A. Poe (Pub. OQO, 2008). His illustrations are also well known through his repeated collaborations with El Pais Semanal magazine. He has also been published in Voz de Galicia, MAN Magazine, Nosotros somos los muertos, Stripburger, Pictoplasma, Rolling Stone, TOS, Dos veces breve, Fanzine enfermo, Garabatagge or Trauma. His participation was requested in various exhibitions, including: The young creator’s biennial in Athens and Naples; COMIC-ON in Naples; Orense´s Municipal Museum; the Centro Cultural Españolin Buenos Aires or the collective exhibition Tipos Illustrados, organised by Cromotex, which included a selection of the best Spanish artists working in the world of illustrations. |
